Pregnancy external examination model
Summary
The installation into a SP (simulated patient) of a fetal model that corresponds
to a particular number of weeks of pregnancy creates a realistic simulation
for health examinations of pregnant women. This is helpful for learning
midwifery diagnosis techniques, and communication with a simulated pregnant
woman provides good educational benefits. It realistically reproduces the
sizes of a fetus and a placenta, fetal presentation, position, and palpations,
meaning it can be used for childbirth preparation education.

Features
It is possible to use this to practice midwifery techniques necessary for midwifery diagnosis.
The installation into a SP of a fetal model that corresponds to a particular number of weeks (20, 32, and 40 weeks) of pregnancy allows the creation of a simulated pregnant woman.
It is possible to perform palpation of the fetal dorsum, fetal head, acromion (brachi-cranial bone), gluteal region, and greater trochanter, which can be used as guides for abdominal palpation.
Simulated amniotic fluid allows the creation of a realistic sensation during abdominal palpation.
The use of simplified breasts attached to an apron enables exercises in breast care.
It is possible to connect commercial earphones to the fetal abdomen through the lower part of the apron to practice auscultation of fetal cardiac sounds.

Arrangement of a fetal model with placenta (40th and 32 weeks)
Remove the abdominal cover of the apron to insert a fetus.
It can be set freely with cephalic and pelvic presentation.
It is possible to change the feel during palpation by changing the position
of the placenta, the position of the additional amniotic fluid, the position
of the limbs (above, below of the additional amniotic fluid, etc.).
Place the simulated amniotic fluid over the fetus.
The simulated amniotic fluid has "↑" printing. Simulated amniotic
fluid is thick on the arrow side. When setting the 32 week fetus, put the
arrow on the chest side, and when setting the 40 week fetus, cover the
side of the pubic side with the arrow side.
Install the abdominal cover.
Attach the abdominal cover so as not to damage simulated amniotic fluid
with the zipper.
Close the zipper.
Abdominal cover is a consumable item. If pilling etc. stand out, please
exchange it with a new one.
Arrangement for the 20th week fetal model
Insert the 20 week fetus from the back of the apron.
Insert the 20 weeks fetus and simulated amniotic fluid through the poket
at the back of the apron。(Though picture is Velcro、zipper is adopted on
the product.)
The condition in which the 20 week fetus is contained.
The place where 32 and 40 weeks fetus placed is turned to be abdominal wall during 20 weeks fetus setting.

Setting the arms and legs of the fetus in the simulated amniotic fluid
for replenishment allows the use to change the method of touching the abdomen.
